In 1821, Bon Secours became the first community of sisters to provide continuous nursing within the homes of those who were suffering. Our vision and mission: to defend and care for all life and creation and alleviate suffering; to bring a message of hope and "GOOD HELP" to those in need. Our faith-filled communities draw others to our charism of compassion, healing, and liberation. Community life and shared prayer balance our life of ministry as we contribute to a more humane world integral to spreading the Gospel. We minister in healthcare, retreat ministry, pastoral, social and human services, housing, education, etc. Through continuing founder Josephine Potel´s innovative spirit, we bring healing and wholeness beyond walls of tradition in rural areas and cities in the U.S., England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Peru, and Africa.
