The Passionists are an international Catholic Religious Order founded by St. Paul of the Cross in Italy in 1720. The Passionist family includes priests, brothers, nuns, sisters, and laypeople. We are committed to "keeping alive the memory of the Passion as the most overwhelming revelation of God's love".  As active contemplatives, we see the Crucified Christ in His crucified people and crucified earth, seeking to discern the signs of the times and the movement of the Holy Spirit. St Joseph's Province is present in England, Wales, and Sweden. Our Passionist life and mission in the U.K. is often in deprived inner-city areas, and includes preaching the Word of the Cross in a variety of ways. Contact Fr. Martin Newell, C.P.; vocations@passionists-uk.org; www. passionists-uk.org. Member of Compass.
