We Dominican Sisters of Racine, WI are members of the Order of Preachers. We preach the Good News of God's love to the world through our ministries and our lives. One of our mottos is “To contemplate and share the fruits of contemplation.” We strive to base our lives on the four pillars of Dominican life: prayer, study, community, and ministry/preaching. Our roots go back 800 years to St. Dominic. We came to Racine, WI, in 1862. We are currently around 80 members. Our ministries today are centered in social justice issues, community and volunteer services, prayer and preaching. We have served as teachers, lawyers, social workers, medical professionals, parish pastoral ministers, chaplains, artists, and advocates for those who are suffering, including our whole earth community. In whatever we do, we aim to be “Committed to Truth and Compelled to Justice.” Please visit our website.
