We are Sisters of the Third Order Regular of Saint Francis. In following the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi, Albertine Sisters consecrate themselves by following the evangelical counsels and serving the poorest and most miserable in whom they recognize the image of the suffering Jesus. The Sisters take public vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience; lead a fraternal life; and give themselves to apostolic activity, including serving those who are poor, lonely, elderly, or sick. They also serve in missions and parishes. Christ manifests sacrificial love most fully in the Eucharist since He becomes bread for all. The Albertine Sister should therefore be marked by the type of goodness of bread. "We should be good like bread, which is set on the table for all," says our founder Br. Albert Chmielowski, "so that each, when he is hungry, may cut off a piece for himself, and so be nourished."
